Slash Your Hosting Bills: A Tubetorial Quick Fix

We’ve just put up the first in a new, soon to be ongoing, Tube’ series of quick fixes. This first offering covers how you can save yourself some hosting dough by making use of the Add On Domains feature packed in a lot of the more popular hosting packages.

As always, you can check it out here or over at Tubetorial:

In other news things have been a bit hectic with client work and getting set up for both my own forthcoming video action, and some work I am set to do on other websites. If you’re hungry for some tech writing, though, check out my latest contributions to Master New Media, reviews of PubMatic - a great way of aggregating ad networks to increase your revenues, and Kaltura, a cool video remix community creation tool.

Excellent video! I’ve been wondering what to do if I wanted to have multiple blogs and didn’t want to purchase a seperate hosting account for each site.

What hosting site were you using in this video?

    Regards
    Shane

    Thanks!

The host in the video is Bluehost, who are pretty awesome let it be said. They host this blog too. I also have positive experience of Siteground. Both nice and cheap, especially on the add-on domains tip, and never any notable downtime or issues.

    Cheers,

    Michael

    Excellent video! Thanks, Michael.

One question: In this video you mention buying a cheap domain name and then pointing it to your existing storage and then you say that how to do this is in the notes below this video. Umm, I don’t see those notes. Please advise.

    Thanks again,
    Randie

    Hi Randie,

The video originally appeared on Tubetorial.com, where there was also a link. I guess that’s the one problem with external links and embedded videos.

Personally I use Site 5 (aff.) for most of my hosting - although I think this site is with Bluehost. Both are pretty cheap, albeit not the best hosts in the universe if you check out their stats. I’ve never had problems with either though.
